James Franco is certainly one of the most hardworking men in Hollywood. The actor, artist, educator, and filmmaker, is, according to imdb.com, involved in 16 different film projects this year, and that’s just counting his acting credits. Franco’s dramatic latest film True Story, sees him team up with friend and sometime collaborator, Jonah Hill to tell the troubling true story of Michael Finkel and Christian Longo.

Synopsis – When disgraced New York Times reporter Michael Finkel (Hill) meets accused killer Christian Longo (Franco) – who has taken on Finkel’s identity – his investigation morphs into an unforgettable game of cat-and-mouse.  Based on actual events, Finkel’s relentless pursuit of Longo’s true story encompasses murder, love, and deceit.

Although the pair usually share the screen in comedies as opposed to dramas, they have both been Oscar nominated for their dramatic roles (Franco – 127 Hours, Hill – Moneyball, The Wolf of Wall Street). Joined by another Oscar nominee (although frustratingly the trailer fails to mention this) Felicity Jones, True Story has a powerful cast behind it to bring the incredible true story to the big screen.

Also starring Maria Dizzia and Ethan Suplee, True Story is released in UK cinemas on 17th July.
