The Witcher Season 2

It’s official folks, ‘it’s a wrap’ as Netflix confirm their epic fantasy series The Witcher Season 2. 158 days since production started, The Witcher has wrapped principal photography on Season 2.

Spanning 15 UK locations with 89 cast members, approximately 1,200 crew members, and a whole lot of new monsters, the road to wrap has been almost as epic as the series itself.

Like everything the series was delayed shooting thanks to Covid-19 and that show star Henry Cavill (minus that Justice League moustache) injuring himself during filming.

Netflix released a behind the scenes Featurette from the set, capturing the excitement among the cast and crew – led by showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and off course opening with Cavill thanking everyone an insight of the excitement behind the show to finally get the series in the can. Here’s hoping they won’t need any re-shoots!

Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. The story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.

In Season 2, convinced Yenneferโ€™s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continentโ€™s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.

Netflix are hoping The Witcher Season 2 will be released online sometime in 2021. The exact date this year has still be announced.
