Is Lando Calrissian Getting A Disney+ Show With Donald Glover?
The past few weeks there’s been a lot of buzz for a Solo : A Stars Wars Story sequel. If it will happens who knows, it was a film enjoyed by film fans more than critics. If it doesn’t happen, one of the film’s characters might get his own series on Disney+, Lando Calrissian.
As we know Lando is no stranger to the Original Star Wars franchise. Billy Dee Williams played Lando in Empire Strikes Back, Donald Glover played the younger Lando in Solo.
The news was broke on Kessel Run Transmissions podcast, claiming Lando will be a new Disney+ original show. After the success of The Mandalorian it would be a wise move to make this series. Glover’s character was also one of the very few good things from Solo and fans would love to see him wear iconic yellow cape once again.
An Lando series would fit nicely into Star Wars TV schedule which seems to be given those secondary characters from the franchise a chance to shine. It also gives fans to see more of the ever expansive world franchise is based in. Other characters getting their own show will be Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor (Rogue One), and a series starring Ewan McGregor as the younger Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Clone Wars are the best evidence that Television and Streaming services might be the best route for Star Wars to expand successfully. As we know Lando Calrissian was no saint, a bit of rogue, but so was Han Solo. So what adventures he may take are unknown but they might not be all above the ‘law, possibly leading up to how he got to Cloud City.
At the moment everything is just gossip and rumours, hopefully for fans there is some truth to the story!
