Infinite Realities In Trailer For Sci-Fi Thriller Dark Matter
Apple TV have released the first very trippy Trailer for their upcoming sci-fi series, Dark Matter starring Joel Edgerton.
Based on the blockbuster book by New York Times bestselling author Blake Crouch. The new, nine-episode series is set to launch next month with Crouch onboard as executive producer and showrunner.
Edgerton leads the cast in Dark Matter as physicist Jason Dessen. One night walking home from work in Chicago, Jason is abducted and thrown into an alternative reality. Why and who abducted him? Himself. The nightmare begins when he tries to get back to his own reality, and save his family from himself,
So far, so good when it comes to Apple’s Sci-fi content and this looks promising…
Hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels of the decade, โDark Matterโ is a story about the road not taken. The series will follow Jason Dessen (played by Edgerton), a physicist, professor, and family man who โ one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago โ is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself.
Crouch serves as creator, executive producer, showrunner and writer alongside executive producers Matt Tolmach and David Manpearl for Matt Tolmach Productions. Edgerton also serves as executive producer. โDark Matterโ is produced for Apple TV+ by Sony Pictures Television.
The series also stars Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, Oakes Fegley Amanda Brugel. Dark Matter will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Wednesday, 8th May.
