Indicator August Slates Has Deadly Affairs, Bob Fosse And Christopher Lee

Things might be slowly easing off with lockdown, Indicator have those (days and) nights in covered. August slate travels through continents, genres and time to present a diverse trio of cinematic gems, each exploring the dark and light sides of human nature. Deadly affairs, Bob Fosse and Amicus Christopher Lee.

First, following our recent editions of Time Without Pity, The Damned and Secret Ceremony, we turn our attention to another film in the extraordinary career of Joseph Losey: EVE (aka EVA). Starring Jeanne Moreau (Jules et Jim) and Stanley Baker (Yesterday’s Enemy) as lovers caught in a deadly affair, Losey’s highly personal film was blighted by producer interference, and heavily cut for general release. We are delighted to be able to present the longest-known version of the film in this definitive, world-premiere Blu-ray edition.

Next, a sumptuous 4K restoration of SWEET CHARITY, the directorial debut of the great Bob Fosse (Cabaret), is given the deluxe treatment. Complete with an 80-page perfect-bound book and double-sided poster, this musical re-imagining of Federico Fellini’s Nights of Cabiria, starring the wonderful Shirley MacLaine (The Apartment), is presented in both its general release version and its complete 157-minute Roadshow version for the first time ever on Blu-ray.

Concluding our August releases, we turn to Amicus Productions (Torture Garden, The Mind of Mr. Soames, The Beast Must Die), and the joint talents of horror icons Peter Cushing (The Revenge of Frankenstein) and Christopher Lee (The Pirates of Blood River), for Stephen Weeks’ I, MONSTER. This sumptuous adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novella, Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, has been newly restored by INDICATOR, and this Blu-ray premiere edition will include both the original theatrical cut and extended version.
