Regardless how critical Nicolas Cage films are you can’t deny we love them! 2021 has been a strong year for the Cagemeister, 2022 is going to get more bonkers with The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Lionsgate Films have just sent us the film’s first UK Trailer as Nicolas Cage plays Nic Cage!

Can’t anymore crazier as Cage plays himself in this action comedy. For fans of the actor it’s probably the dream role, possibly for the actor himself! He plays a fictionlised version of himself, cash strapped and offered $1 million to attend a a superfan’s (Pedro Pascal) birthday party. Cage is hired as CIA operative to save himself and loved ones.

Being John Malkovich for the 21st Century? The trailer may not tease this as bonkers as we wish it would be. That doesn’t mean we won’t love this, if he brings his idiosyncratic self, we might just have a fun film on the cards.

Nicolas Cage stars as… Nick Cage in the action-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, the fictionalized version of Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan (Pedro Pascal). Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative (Tiffany Haddish) and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones. With a career built for this very moment, the seminal award-winning actor must take on the role of a lifetime: Nick Cage.

The film also stars Pedro Pascal, Sharon Horgan, Ike Barinholtz, Alessandra Mastronardi, Jacob Scipio, Lily Sheen, with Neil Patrick Harris, and Tiffany Haddish.
