In Superintelligence Trailer Melissa McCarthy Is ‘Average’
Saving the world needs someone EXTRA ordinary. In Superintelligence UK Trailer, Melissa McCarthy is certainly ‘ordinary’ can she save the world from A.I?
This latest comedy is the latest collaboration with her filmmaking husband Ben Falcone (Tammy, The Boss, Life of the Party). Melissa McCarthy is Carol and ordinary woman who finds herself been studied by an Superintelligence (James Corden). Will the A.I enslave humanity? Carol has the fate of the world in her hands.
To be honest is this a comedy or an horror? When Corden plays the so called intelligence, and the actor who wore that ‘catsuit’ in Cats, you wonder who needs saved. This is horrific on so many levels.
This looks a dumb comedy and the humour you expect from McCarthy who is quickly is shaping into the female version of Adam Sandler. Like Mr Sandler she’s proven her real talent is in her dramatic chops not the generic rubbish packaged as comedy. Sadly this looks another forgettable mess.
When an all-powerful Superintelligence (James Corden) chooses to study the most average person on Earth, Carol Peters (Melissa McCarthy), the fate of the world hangs in the balance. As the A.I. decides to enslave, save or destroy humanity, it’s up to Carol to prove that people are worth saving.
The film also stars Bobby Cannavale, Brian Tyree Henry and James Corden.
Superintelligence will be released in the UK and Ireland in cinemas to a date still to be announced. Over the other side of the Atlantic the film will be released on HBO Max from 26th November.
