In 2067 Trailer Kodi Smit-McPhee Is Fighting For Our Future

Kodi Smit-McPhee is no stranger to a post apocalyptic Earth when he starred in The Road. Viggo Mortensen was trying to save him, in Seth Larney‘s 2067 with help from Ryan Kwanten he has to save our little planet.

RJLE Films has released the Official Trailer for the Australian sci-fi actioner. A film that might be set in the future but resonates very much with today, climate change.

The film we find ourselves in the near future and the year 2067. Humanity is running low in oxygen,and we’re living on artificial oxygen, but this synthetic O2 is killing us.A mysterious illness is killing us all and when someone receives a message from the future ‘Send Ethan Whyte‘. Ethan (Smit-McPhee) is thrust into a new world, unknown danger in the name of humanity.

This is Larney’s second directorial feature, jumping over from Visual effects. You can clearly see his expertise in the trailer. Just terrifying taking the issues of today pushing them into future.

By the year 2067, Earth has been ravaged by climate change and humanity is forced to live on artificial oxygen. An illness caused by the synthetic O2 is killing the worldsโ€™ population and the only hope for a cure comes in the form of a message from the future: โ€œSend Ethan Whyteโ€. Ethan, an underground tunnel worker, is suddenly thrust into a terrifying new world full of unknown danger as he must fight to save the human race.

The cast also includes Leeanna Walsman, Deborah Mailman, Sana’a Shaik, Finn Little, Damian Walshe-Howling, and Aaron Glenane.

We don’t have details on who and when this film will be released in UK and Ireland. 2067 will be released in the USA In select cinemas and VOD from 2nd October.
