As the great Ric Flair likes to say to his wannabe opponents “To be The Man…You have to Beat The Man (Whoo!!!!)” In Dreamwork’s Reel Steel to be that man or 8 foot Robot you have to box like the man, Sugar Ray Leonard!Hugh Jackman’s character Charlie Kenton is a washed out top boxer and his movements control these big 2000pound bits of robotic steel and if Jackman is to convince us the viewers he must act like a pro boxer and when Shawn Levy told Jackman the good news that Sugar Ray Leonard is the man to help him lets just say his jaw dropped like one of those looney Tunes cartoon characters! Via the good folks at YahooDreamworks have released anew featurette looking at how the legendary boxer got involved in the movie and how tried to make him look like a pro.

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championshipcontender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.
