"Ice Ice Baby…Word!" New Trailer for MR POPPER'S PENGUINS Starring Jim Carey

After last year’s X-Factor (and even Eurovision last week) the absurd ott Jedward managed to cover a song, that was cheesy but dear to my childhood and make it even more of a laughing stock, Vanilla Ice’s – Ice Ice Baby; though the nostalgia of the song is now gone, it seems to pop up more & more in movies, such as Jim Carey’s latest flick MR POPPER’S PENGUINS. Like the North Pole, sadly this movie’s comedic value is melting away very quickly.

There was a time when a Jim Carey movie was a major blockbuster pull, but after several disasters this effect is sadly not there anymore. As a young friend said, “Jim Carey is so 1990’s!”

Mr Popper’s Penguins is based on a 1938 Children’s book that tells the story of of Mr Popper(Carey), a businessman whose life changes when he inherits some penguins. It is a children’s movie and if it makes the kids laugh, it’ll get a “job well done” from the parents!

The movie also stars Carla Gugino, Angela Lansbury, Ophelia Lovibond, and Philip Baker Hall. James Tupper, Clark Gregg, David Krumholtz, and Andrew Stewart-Jones.Check out the new theatrical trailer below, which does actually include plenty of new footage and you can see the movie when it comes out August 5th or if your in USA June 17th.

Adventure-loving house painter Mr. Popper (Jim Carrey) contends with the problem of having too many penguins in director Mark S. Watersโ€™ adaptation of author Richard Atwaterโ€™s beloved childrenโ€™s book. Shortly after penning a letter to a team of Arctic explorers, Mr. Popper is surprised to receive a penguin in the mail. Later, after making his mischievous new pal a cozy new home in the freezer, the hapless Mr. Popper comes into possession of a playful female penguin as well. Before long Mr. Popper finds himself surrounded by a growing family of the flightless birds, and begins training them to perform in a traveling show dubbed Popperโ€™s Performing Penguins. With each new town the show travels to, pandemonium is quick to follow.
