Hidden Figures New Featurette Goes ‘Behind The Numbers’

Every corner of the world there is extraordinary people doing things that see them get no credit or acknowledgement they deserve. Next February  in Hidden Figures, the extraordinary women  behind the brains of NASA will finally get their story told. A story that’s beyond extraordinary, one of talent but also one to fight racism and discrimination simply because they weren’t white women but African American women.

Last month we finally got a look at the movie’s first UK trailer as well as a featurette looking at the story of the ‘Hidden Figures‘.Today Twentieth Century Fox  in the latest behind the scenes  we go ‘Behind The Numbers‘ as cast and crew including director Theodore Melfi and producer Pharrell Williams, discuss the movie. A promo focused on the great mathematic brain needed to get the Americans into space and ‘stop’ the Russians ‘spying’.

Hidden Figures is the incredible untold story of Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughn (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monae)—brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanised the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.

With Cold war, race riots, civil rights struggle, in an era of separation,been a non-white person you just faced abuse and sexism. Never let your race, gender, even sexuality or religion stop you achieving your dream, you have the talent you should get the credit. It’s frustrating these wonderful women have had to wait nearly 60 years to get a story they truly deserve.

Hidden Figures also stars  Kirsten Dunst, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, Aldis Hodge, Glen Powell and Kevin Costner. The film will be out in UK, Irish Cinemas on release date of 24th February (USA 13th January) 2017.
