Hammer Plans THE WOMAN IN BLACK Sequel With Susan Hill’s ‘Angels Of Death’ Novel

When Hammer Films returned in 2010 to film production with the underrated Let Me In no one could have thought the old magic of conquering the box office would ever happen again. Of course this year it did when The Woman In Black became the most successful film for the studio in many years, so it’s no surprise that the film is returning for a sequel!
We’ve learned that The Woman In Black the highest grossing British Horror film in twenty years (grossing worldwide $100million since February 2012) that Hammer will once again team up with the author to bring you the sequel. Susan Hill’s follow up is entitled The Woman In Black:Angels Of Death with John Crocker adapting the book for the big screen.
The Woman In Black:Angels Of Death will see us return to Eels Marsh Manor forty years after the the original film for more spooks, rocking chairs and midnight dips into mud marsh pools. Fingers crossed the film won’t be walking on familiar ground by simply re-telling the same story once again with new characters as for the original cast or even director James Marsh returning there is no word on that side of the film just yet.
Despite flaw The Woman In Black was an ok film however it gave the heevie jeevies to the targeted audience who did love the film and with the box office returns and fans response it’s no surprise we’re about to visit M’lady once again at Eels Marsh Manor.
