Guillermo del Toro says, โ€œThis film concludes a journey for me that started at age seven, when I saw James Whaleโ€™s Frankenstein films for the first time. Gothic horror became my church, and Boris Karloff my Messiah. It is an honour to be able to invite people to take a closer look at how my incredible crafts team and I have brought Mary Shelleyโ€™s world to life on screen.โ€

del Toro adapts Mary Shelleyโ€™s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation. Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen, Christian Convery, with Charles Dance, and Christoph Waltz star in the film.

Frankenstein will have its Headline Gala screening at the 69th BFI London Film Festival on October 13th. It will be released in select UK cinemas on October 17th before it debuts on Netflix from November 7th.ย
