Ghosts Of The Past Uncovered In The Dig Trailer

Nothing stays lost forever as Netflix reveal the official Trailer for The Dig starring Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes.

Ghosts of our past lie below our feet, you never know what you’ll find. Sometimes those finds come in some unexpected places including car parks in Leicester (Richard III’s remains)! This film is based around the book written by John Preston and magical discovery of Sutton Hoo, better known as ‘Britain’s Tutankhamun’.

The Dig we find ourselves set in 1939 just before World War 2. On the estate of wealthy widow of Edith Petty (Mulligan) who hires a local amateur archaeologist Basil (Fiennes) to excavate burial mounds from her estate. What they discover is one of Britain’s greatest excavations covering a part of history rarely documented.

Simon Stone directs this one which will be one of the first Netflix Original films for 2021.   Looks a very solid British drama with some great cast too.
