If you are going to make your directorial feature in horror like Charlotte Colbert, who better could you get to produce for you…Horror legend Dario Argento! IFC Midnight have released the bewitching Trailer For Psychological Horror She Will.

The film stars Alice Krige, Kota Eberthardt, Malcolm McDowell, and Rupert Everett. We find ourselves somewhere very close to The Peoples Movies, in Scotland. Ageing actress Veronica Ghent (Krige) heads to a rural part of the country to recover from difficult surgery with her nurse. This gives a chance for Veronica to reflect on past traumas when a mysterious force gives Veronica powers to enact revenge in her dream.

The press pack describes the film as “An inventive and provocative directorial debut, with #MeToo resonance, SHE WILL is a timely feminist critique“. With Argento onboard and Alfonso Cuarón critically praising this film we’re onboard too!

SHE WILL is a gothic-tinged drama about a declining movie star, Veronica Ghent (Alice Krige) who after a difficult surgery, goes to a healing retreat in rural Scotland with her young nurse Desi (Kota Eberhardt). With her own identity in doubt, Veronica starts to confront past traumas endured on movie sets. The two women develop an unlikely bond as mysterious natural of the wilderness give Veronica the power to enact revenge.

An inventive and provocative directorial debut, with #MeToo resonance, SHE WILL is a timely feminist critique, identifying Charlotte Colbert as one of horror’s most exciting new filmmaking voices.

The above trailer is for U.S release, there is no details on who and when UK release will be. She Will is also be released on Shudder on 14th October, there is a chance this could be the UK release. If you live Stateside you can catch the film in select cinemas and on demand from 15th July.
