Frightfest 2012 – What Is A Dibbuk? New Featurette For The Possession

possession

What Is a Dibbuk? That will be the question you’ll next weekend (or this weekend if your at Frightfest) when you see Lionsgate’s The Possession starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kyra Sedgwick, Madison Davenport,Natasha Calis. To try give us shed some light on this spirit or thing is we have a new creepy featurette which tries to explain what the Dibbuk is as it’s the basis of the film. This film is apparently based on a true story (news story printed in LA Times,in July 2004 called โ€˜Jink In A Boxโ€™.) we do meet people/experts in demonic possession as well as see some ‘real footage’ too, but do demons really exist?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the worried father of a young girl who bought a small box called a Dibbuk at a garage sale which has a evil spirit inside which is said to be of a Hebrew Spirit that steals souls of children once opened people die. Horror has been getting a bad name the past decade or so, probably down to unoriginal stories or same generic stories over and over again however there has been a few saviours the past few years have given the tired genre hope and with Sam Raimi producing this film does show potential of breaking out of the already used too many times mold. I’m sure the Frightfester will let us know when the film is premiรจred Sunday night then Friday 31st August film goes on general release.
