Forest Gump Versus Somali Pirates In Captain Philips UK Trailer

When you put Tom Hanks in a film directed by Paul Greengrass based true story delivered in the director’s signature Docu-drama style it can only mean Oscar bait. Step forward Captain Philips and thanks to The Guardian we have the first official trailer and it certainly looks a recipe for success!

Captain Philips is based on true life story of  the 2009 hijacking of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama by Somali pirates the first American ship to be hijacked in over 200 years. Hanks Richard Philips the real life captain of the cargo ship a film based and thanks to the way Philips dealt with his captors made him a TV celeb resulting in a book deal now we have the film.

This trailer shows Captain Philips will be compelling stuff, intense in nature but if we put Green Zone to one side  Greengrass knows how to create  something really powerful and faith he’ll will deliver. Captain Philips is set for 11th October release Uk, Ireland , USA though this date is not set in stone but do expect the late this year co -starring Catherine Keener, Max Martini, Yul Vazquez, Michael Chernus, Chris Mulkey, Corey Johnson, David Warshofsky, John Magaro and Angus MacInnes.
