First Trailer For Enid Blyton’s The Magic Faraway Tree
It’s been a longtime since we’ve had a Enid Blyton story made into a feature film. 2026 EFD Films will release family fantasy adventure The Magic Faraway Tree.
The popular book series has been a potential film for a long time with Sam Mendes at one time set to direct. Simon Farnaby who wrote the best of the Paddington films (second one) has come on board to write with Ben Gregor (Brassic) directing.
The Magic Faraway Tree stars Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy as a couple with three kids. They all relocate to the countryside and, as the kids adapt to the new life, they discover a magical tree. A tree that transports them into a extraordinary land with eccentric citizens.
The rest of the cast for this one includes Nonso Anozie, Jessica Gunning. Along with Dustin Demri-Burns, Mark Heap, Oliver Chris, Sir Lenny Henry, Sir Michael Palin, Sir Simon Russell Beale With Jennifer Saunders and Rebecca Ferguson.

Synopsis | The Magic Faraway Tree follows Polly (Claire Foy), Tim (Andrew Garfield) and their three children – a modern family forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. As they adapt to their new lives, the children discover a magical tree and its extraordinary and eccentric residents including treasured characters Moonface (Nonso Anozie), Silky (Nicola Coughlan), Dame Washalot (Jessica Gunning) and Saucepan Man (Dustin Demri-Burns). At the top of the tree, they are transported to spectacular and fantastical lands and, through the joys and challenges of their adventures, the family learn to reconnect and value each other for the first time in years.
The Magic Faraway Tree will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 27th March 2026.
