Anyone tells you the end means the end when a popular Television show ends, tell them to think again. Back 2019 Downton Abbey made it’s feature film debut proving TV shows can survive on the big screen. Earlier this year we learned Downton Abbey 2 aka A New Era will be released  for Christmas. Sadly like a lot of things it will now be released in March 2022 and today Universal Pictures have released first look images.

There isn’t a proper synopsis actually been released yet. From what we know is the sequel  will take place not long after the first film. When a Royal Visit to the Crawley family and Downton staff from the King and Queen of England and ended with a ball fitting for the Royal Family.

The cast includes a lot of familiar faces Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Robert James-Collier, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Maggie Smith, David Haig, Imelda Staunton, Penelope Wilton, and Lesley Nicol. Keeping up with the ‘New Era’ part of this film there will be a number of new faces and they are Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West.

We know an American  teaser trailer has just been released, we expect the full UK version to follow suit. Downton Abbey: A New Era will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 18th March 2022.
