First Look at Pixar's Scottish Adventure BRAVE
Along with the recent CARS 2 rollouts tonight Pixar have kindly sent us the first concept art or the studios 13th animated feature BRAVE which stars the voices of Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Julie Walters,Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson and Robbie Coltrane.
The movie sadly has had its problems especially with directors with Marc Andrews taking over fromย Brenda Chapman (the companies first female director) though Chapman will still be credited with the movie plus the movie was originally called THE BEAR AND THE BOW.ย The movies lead character Merida was orginally voiced by Hollywood actress Reese Witherpsoon but Pixar have went for a authentic accent with No Country for Old Men/Trainspotting star Kelly Mac donald now taking over.
Still a while until the movie will be out when it opens in U.K. cinemas on August 17, 2012.
Brave is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, Merida one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Meridaโs quest โ and serving as comic relief โ are the kingdomโs three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), the surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson), and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane).
