From Lockwood & Co coming to Netflix 27th Jan 2023

Hunt or be hunted as Netflix release the first teaser for Joe Cornish‘s supernatural series Lockwood & Co.

It’s been over 10 years since the British filmmaker released his Attack The Block that unearthed John Boyega (The Woman King). Cornish also directed The Kid Who Would Be King with a host of writing gigs including Ant-Man. Now he’s returning to the small screen this time streaming world with this 8 episode series.

The series is based on the popular series of books from Jonathan Stroud. The name of the series is named after a ghost hunting group which has Cameron Chapman whom plays Anthony Lockwood with Ruby Stokes as Lucy Carlyle and Ali Hadji-Heshmati as George Karim. The small agency ran by two boys who are joined by a girl with extraordinary psychic abilities. The trio attempt to unearth a mystery that could change the course of history.

What books this opening season will cover is unknown. Like every series they’ll be hoping you can get to a second series which means you are doing well on Netflix. This looks like Ghostbusters set in the Harry Potter universe, and if you enjoyed those films great chance you’ll enjoy this one.

In a world plagued by ghosts, where giant corporations employ psychic teens to battle the supernatural, only one company operates without adult supervision, and its name is Lockwood & Co. Run by Anthony Lockwood, a rebellious young entrepreneur haunted by his mysterious past, his brilliant but eccentric sidekick George and a newly arrived, supremely gifted girl called Lucy, this renegade trio are about to unravel a terrifying mystery that will change the course of history.

The series also stars Ivanno Jeremiah, Jack Bandeira, Luke Treadaway, Morven Christie, Hayley Konadu, Rhianna Dorris, and Paddy Holland.

Lockwood & Co will launch globally on Netflix from 27th January 2023.
