Vertigo Releasing have acquired the UK and Irish rights for Three Quick Breaths starring Danny Dyer. The film has started principal photography and release First Look Image.
What better time to reveal the news as football fans watch the news to see if their team sign anyone on transfer deadline day. Danny Dyer (Rivals) stars as Jimmy Banks โ an old school football agent who desperately needs to get his star footballer one last big payday before Jimmyโs life, and his playerโs reputation, comes tumbling down. A fast paced, pressure cooker thriller, the film plunges into the seedy and exhilarating world of football agents who live for the big deals and will torch everything else down in pursuit of them.
No other cast has been announced, the film is directed by Brendan Muldowney (The Cellar).
Dyer commented “Shooting Three Quick Breaths in Ireland has been an incredible experience so far โ even if most of my time is spent locked in Jimmy Banks’ office! Jimmy’s a character whoโs juggling chaos, but thereโs so much depth to him โ this is a very rare opportunity as an actor to be the only performer in a film. In a way I feel like itโs my Hamlet. Itโs a brilliant, clever piece and Iโm very proud to be part of it.”
Director Brendan Muldowney also commented – โI am so excited to be working on Peter’s amazing script for THREE QUICK BREATHS. It is a funny, thrilling and surprisingly moving, adrenaline fuelled story, and James โJimmyโ Banks is one of the best characters I’ve ever read in a script. One actor, one location thrillers are incredibly intense and I canโt wait to work with Danny on bringing โJimmy Banksโ to life in all his glory.โ
The film is produced by Paul Kennedy (Nightride) for Village Films, Richard Bolger (Father, Mother, Sister, Brother) for Hail Mary Pictures, and Patrick OโNeill (Kneecap) for Wildcard with support from Screen Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen. The film will be shot in Ireland this month with post-production taking place in Northern Ireland.
With Vertigo Releasing handling the film in the UK and Ireland, Sunrise Films are onboard for worldwide sales. Rupert Preston and Ed Caffrey are Executive Producers for Vertigo Releasing and Greg Martin is Executive Producer for Screen Ireland. Lenders are CFF2 and Three Point Capital.
