Escape Room

How far would you go to win a lot of money, say about $1 million (ยฃ650 K)? In Escape Room, people are ‘dying’ to play and today Sony Pictures Releasing we get teased with the film’s first Trailer.

Get immersed in the game, even if it means the game could kill would you still play? It seems the one-time lucky souls might not be as lucky, ‘Find the Clues, or Die!’. Directed by Adam Robitel (Insidious: The Last Key), this film looks like wanting to tap into a psychological horror thriller tap. ‘Escape Rooms’ may be more of an American thing, they are like symbols of anxiety especially for those folks in the world who have money to burn.

On paper, this looks like Saw clone, from the clues you need to survive and win. Six strangers playing ‘the game’.With Saw franchise ended (for now at least), the studio may like something to fill the void. This one? If this one delivers don’t be surprised if other rooms will be the subject of future films.

Its hard to say how well this one will do as its relativity unknown apart from it was once called The Maze. We are big fans of Robitel’s The Taking (Of Deborah Logan), his directorial debut which is highly underrated. Intense, and a film with some unexpected moments. If this one surprises with some nice niches we may just have a genre hit on the cards…

Escape Room is a psychological thriller about six strangers who find themselves in circumstances beyond their control and must use their wits to find the clues or die.

The film stars Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, Deborah Ann Woll, Jay Ellis, Tyler Labine, Nik Dodani, and Yorick van Wageningen.
