Greed (2020)

Next week, Michael Winterbottom‘s Greed will be in UK Cinemas. With one final push Sony Pictures Releasing have released one final UK Trailer our antagonist’s Birthday guest list. Alive and dead!!!

Steve Coogan plays High Street fashion mogul, Sir Richard McCreadie. If you have been living on another planet it’s obvious the character is based on disgraced real life mogul Phillip Green.

In this one his retail empire is in crisis. After a damaging public enquiry, his image has been tarnished. To save his reputation he hosts an extravagant Birthday party on the island of Mykonos.

It’s been a very long time since we can truly say, I’ve watched a good Michael Winterbottom film. This is certainly a cautionary satirical tale, timely one and hopefully a good one!

GREED tells the story of self-made British billionaire Sir Richard McCreadie (Steve Coogan), whose retail empire is in crisis. For 30 years he has ruled the world of retail fashion โ€“ bringing the high street to the catwalk and the catwalk to the high street โ€“ but after a damaging public inquiry, his image is tarnished. To save his reputation, he decides to bounce back with a highly publicised and extravagant party celebrating his 60th birthday on the Greek island of Mykonos. A satire on the grotesque inequality of wealth in the fashion industry, the film sees McCreadieโ€™s rise and fall through the eyes of his biographer, Nick (David Mitchell).

The film features an all-star cast includingย Isla Fisher, David Mitchell, Asa Butterfield, Sophie Cookson, Dinita Gohil, Jamie Blackley, Shanina Shaik, Tim Key, Sarah Solemani, Asim Chaudhry, Ollie Locke, Pearl Mackie, Jonny Sweet, Shirley Hendersonย andย Stephen Fry.

GREEDย will be released in cinemas across the UK & Ireland onย Friday, 21st February 2020.
