Film Review – Away (2016)
Away is the new drama from 101 films. Starring Juno Temple as a young girl on the run from her violent boyfriend, escapes to the seaside town of Blackpool. Where she befriends Joesph (Timothy Spall) realise there much more alike then they think their unlikely friendship helps them both to deal with their lives.
I wasn’t really sure going into Away what to expect and I tried to avoid any spoilers or trailers for the film because I wanted to be suppressed.
Thankfully I was, the film is very well done and very powerful. The cinematography is stunning and the music choice was daring and fit the film so perfectly.
Acting wise the film was acted pretty well for the type of film it was. And I thought Juno Temple was stunning!
I have always been a fan of hers and haven’t been let down in any of her performances. Although she’s been in some questionable films her performance has never been bad.
I also appreciated that she was able to use an English accent as she is in fact English.
There were times that the film was tough to watch, which made the film, in many ways a lot edgier and dark.
I think the score of the film was the winner though. It was so brilliant how it worked so perfectly with the film.
Overall Away is a great film, although slow it is very good and I would recommend it.
