Everything Must Be Faced In The Forgiven UK Trailer

Universal Pictures have released the official first tense Trailer John Michael McDonagh‘s thriller The Forgiven. Cultures clash for Ralph Fiennes and Jessica Chastain who may run, but can they hide? Whatever they do everything must be faced!

Fiennes and Chastain are wealthy London couple heading to a friends wedding in Morocco. On route a tragic accident happens killing a young boy. Instead of informing the police they take the dead body to their friend’s home. They attempt to cover things up, however the boy’s father arrives demanding justice will the couple face the consequences of their actions?

The film officially premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival, leaving with favourable reviews. Now later this Summer the film will get a cinematic release and you can judge for yourselves. The trailer gives us a little look into not just two different cultures but also wealth. Who think they can ‘buy’ there way out of trouble, a split between have and have nots.

In a world which the wealth gap has got bigger the last couple of years and lawmakers becoming lawbreakers. Looks a smart film with plenty of twists and turns…

Speeding through the Moroccan desert to attend an old friend’s lavish weekend party, wealthy Londoners David and Jo Henninger (Ralph Fiennes and Jessica Chastain) are involved in a tragic accident with a local teenage boy. Arriving late at the grand villa with the debauched party raging, the couple attempts to cover up the incident with the collusion of the local police. But when the boy’s father arrives seeking justice, the stage is set for a tension-filled culture clash in which David and Jo must come to terms with their fateful act and its shattering consequences.

The rest of the cast includes Matt Smith, Ismael Kanater, Caleb Landry Jones, Abbey Lee, with Saïd Taghmaoui and Christopher Abbott.

The Forgiven will be released in UK and Irish Cinemas from 2nd September (1st July in USA).
