Divergent-Woodley

8 Weeks time  the next film to attempt capture the young adult crown Divergent will be unleashed, today we get a final look into the Dystopian world the film is set in the new final  UK Trailer. It seems emotions have risen as we get a look at new footage as well as a little more on the film’s back story too.

Based on Veronica Roth’s trilogy of books Divergent is set in post war Chicago in a dystopian world we follow  Beatrice ‘Tris’ Prior (Shailene Woodley) who lives in a society where are segregated into five factions. Those factions are based on the persons personality, for Beatrice she’s different she is a ‘divergent’ and does not fit into any group. She becomes branded a ‘danger’ when she unravels a plot to kill her and all Divergents, Beatrice must learn quickly what makes her so dangerous before it’s too late.

The young Adult film market seems to be an hard nut to crack even just to get some level of success. Its seems only The Hunger Games conquered the hallow ground that Twilight dominated for years but can Divergent grab the glory? This is an hard one to call as it ticks the boxes to succeed but also ticks some of those boxes that make things a little cliched too. Taking the ‘dystopian’ route will certainly get the film compared with The Hunger Games, but if it takes a gritty, realist route it might just be onto a winner.

Divergent will be released in UK on 4th April 2014 , film stars also  Miles Teller, Jai Courtney, Zoe Kravitz, Maggie Q, Ansel Elgort, Mekhi Phifer, Ray Stevenson and Ashley Judd.
