“Are You Elizabeth Berkley In Disguise?” MAGIC MIKE Teaser Trailer Arrives

In 1996 Paul Verhoeven released the dreadful Showgirls and will go down in living memory as been one of the worst films ever made.Now let’s step forward to present day we have a film which could potentially match Showgirls in craftsmanship but also be one of the directors better films, that director is Steven Soderbergh and below is the first trailer for MAGIC MIKE.

Magic Mike stars Channing Tatum and the film is loosely based on the actor’s days as a male stripper who is eager to get out the game but has to mentor young dancer (Alex Pettyfer) on how to perform on the stage as well as around the exotic club Xquisite. The club is ran by Dallas (Matthew McConaughey).

I think it must be song choice of a Rihanna song that’s putting me off this one and probably why I’m getting the Showgirls vibe here. However I do see alot of Steven Soderbergh trademarks here and it looks like the cast had fun making this one which could potentially be one of the director’s best films in a while. What I am keen to see more is Matthew McConaughey who from those peopleto have seen this film, it’s one of his better films and he steals the thunder a number of occasions. Magic Mike I will say is another example of Steven Soderbergh’s  flexibility and diversity how he can easily move between genres with ease.

MAGIC MIKE also stars Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Gabriel Igelsias, Olivia Munn, Riley Keough, Betsy Brandt, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Cody Horn opening in UK&Ireland July 13th.
