Edgar Wright Set To Direct Ghost Story ‘Stage 13’

With the release of Last Night In Soho now releasing in 2021, Edgar Wright has been filling up the gaps in his schedule. According Deadline, the British filmmaker is set to direct Stage 13 for Amblin Entertainment working with Saturday Night Live Alum, Simon Rich.

The film is based on Rich’s on short Story, who will be writing the film’s script but also producingย  too.ย  Wright is set also produce the film with Nira Park his longtime regular producing partner . The pair work under the Complete Fiction banner which produced the likes of The World’s End and Baby Driver.

Stage 13 tells the story of a ghost who was a silent film-era actress that has been haunting the titular soundstage of a backlot for decades. When a struggling director meets the ghost, the par find an unexpected kinship and team to make their mark on the world.

Simon Rich is a five-time Emmy nominee, and has has two novels published as well as five short-story collections. Readers of New Yorker will have read much of his work as his frequently published by the magazine.Stage 13 was originally featured in Richโ€™s collection Hits and Misses of short stories , which won the 2019 Thurber Prize for American Humour. As well as his work appearing on Saturday Night Live, he also wrote the script for American Pickle HBO film starring Seth Rogen.

Edgar Wright has also recently signed up to direct a big-screen adaptation of Adrian McKinty‘s novel The Chain for Universal Pictures. The film we are waiting patiently for is Last Night In Soho starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie and Matt Smith.
