Eddie Redmayne To Star Alongside Tessa Thompson In New Charlie Kaufman Movie

Eddie Redmayne to lead new Charlie Kaufman film

Later The War, the newest project from Academy Award winning filmmaker Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) has officially added Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything), Tessa Thompson (Sorry to Bother You) and Patsy Ferran (Firebrand) to its cast according to Coming Soon.

The film is based on the short story Debbyโ€™s Dream House by author Iddo Gefen which centres around,ย โ€œa man who manufactures dreams for people but ultimately begins creating nightmares for them.โ€ Not much is currently known about Kaufman’s film adaptation, the plot and characters still remain under wraps.

Kaufman will be writing and directing Later the War, this will be his first directorial effort since 2021’s Iโ€™m Thinking of Ending Thingsย for Netflix. The film will be produced by Ken Kao and Josh Rosenbaum for Waypoint Entertainment, as well as Sarah Green and Steven Demmler.

Redmayne was last seen in his Golden Globe nominated performance for the Peacock series The Day of the Jackal, which he will be returning to for a second season. He will also be appearing alongside Julia Roberts, Elizabeth Olsen and Brian Tyree Henry in the upcoming conspiracy Panic Carefully. Tessa Thompson will be soon appearing in several projects such as Nia DaCosta’s upcoming drama Hedda, the Netflix crime drama series His & Hers, andย The Invite where she will co-star with Amy Adams and Paul Rudd.
