According to Deadline, Rupert Grint and Daisy Ridley are among the recent additions to Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, Paramount and Ti West‘s new take on the classic Charles Dickens novella. They will be joining Johnny Depp, who is set to star in the titular role.
A ghost story set in Victorian-era London, Dickens’s classic tale A Christmas Carol follows one man’s journey to face his past, present, and future. While it is not yet confirmed, sources believe that Grint will play Bob Cratchit, Scrooge’s selfless employee. Others joining the film are Sam Claflin, Charlie Murphy, Arthur Conti, and Ellie Bamber. It is unknown who the other actors will be playing. Other names who have been linked to the film include Andrea Riseborough, Ian McKellen, and Tramell Tillman.
The film is currently scheduled to be released on November 13, 2026. Nathaniel Halpern has written the script, with Emma Watts producing. Stephen Deuters and Jason Forman are executive producers. Adam Bohling and David Reid are also exec producing. Ti West is also directing the film. The director is known for his A24 horror genre trilogy that started with X in 2022, followed that same year by Pearl, and concluding with last year’s MaXXXine.
