Dylan O'Brien to star with Rachel McAdams

As reported by Deadline, Dylan O’Brien is set to star in Sam Raimi’s next film called Send Help.

O’Brien is best known for starring in the young adult franchise The Maze Runner and last year he appeared in Jason Reitman’s comedy-drama Saturday Night, which opens in UK cinemas on January 31st.

O’Brien is set to join Rachel McAdams, who is best known for her roles in The NotebookSpotlight, and the Doctor Strange franchise for Marvel. Interestingly, McAdams and Raimi previously worked together on the 2022 MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Originally billed as “a two-hander horror-thriller set on an island” with a story “…somewhere between Rob Reiner’s Stephen King adaptation Misery and Robert Zemeckis’ classic Castaway”. The script comes from Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Baywatch, Freddy vs. Jason).

The logline according to IMDB is as follows:

After a plane crash strands a capable female employee and her annoying boss on a remote island, she must use her survival skills to keep them both alive, despite their challenging relationship

Legendary filmmaker Raimi is best known for the horror franchise The Evil Dead and his Spiderman Trilogy, as well as helming Drag Me To Hell, The Quick and The Dead, and The Gift, amongst others.

At the time of writing, Send Help has no set release date.
