If anything was to convince you less is beautiful but most of all better sometime, Alfonso CuarĂ³n’s Gravity might do the trick. Detach! Don’t Let Go just watch new UK Trailer!

Starring Sandra Bullock as Dr Ryan Stone a medical engineer on her first space mission with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney). After a routine spacewalk disaster strikes when their shuttle is destroyed, leaving the pair with no radio contact spinning into darkness.

The trailer delivers the message that no one can hear you scream in space and the vastness of what’s around you is nothing but terrifying. Once again kids if you need a lesson on how to tease your viewer with a trailer Gravity trailer is a perfect example not giving away the whole plot, just teases your curiousity to want more. Talking of more looking at the film’s official website there is 2 more countdown timers one for today another tomorrow as the first one was for this trailer so we assume more clips/trailers are on the way.

Gravity certainly looks like 2001: A Space Odyssey has played a part in the film’s inspiration which Cauron states has similarities to do something realistic, just the mere mention of Kubrick’s film should attract more attention. You can watch that comic con panel which we believe is where this trailer’s footage was first shown and if you want to watch the first teaser check it out here.

Gravity will land in a UK&Irish cinema near you from 18th October (USA 6th October), the film will also make it’s World Premier at Venice Film Festival in August, then heading to Toronto Film Festival in September.

Synopsis

Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.

But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
