Doctor Strange Releases Running Time And IMAX Promo

dr-strange
In 10 days time here in UK&Ireland we will enter the uniquely surreal multi-realm universe of Doctor Strange , Marvel Cinema Universe latest Phase 3 movie. The promotion may not be in your face like previous MCU movies (though that could change), what do know this time is going to be completely different from the other movies.

Recently Marvel fans around the world were treated to a special 15 minute Sneak Peek of Doctor Strange in IMAX 3D.Those kind folks at IMAX have sent us this nice featurette which shows the fans reactions to the movie and the effects which virtually all agreed were amazing. Doctor Strange will feature more than an hour of specially formatted IMAX sequences and will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of An IMAX 3D Experience®.

In other news today, BBFC has announced the movies official running time will be just under 2-hour mark , 114 minutes. This making the movie the second shortest, with Incredible Hulk 2 minutes shorter at 112 minutes. Many Hollywood Blockbuster fail to remember 2 and half hour movies can be seen as too long even overstretched especially if it’s a movie that will have a number of big action set pieces. It’s hard to say if the shorter running time to other MCU movies is any reflection on the movie, however, director Scott Derrickson‘s movie seems to average a similar running time.

There is a rumour but not official in any form that Doctor Strange is set to have not one but two end credits scenes. Screencrush is reporting one  of the scenes will reflect Strange ‘s future movies with a character possibly aligning with a very powerful villain. The other scene will start to see Strange start get involved in other parts of MCU, with a scene that sets up one of 2017 Phase 3 movies. The report does state those rumours are but as they are not confirmed and potential major spoilers, you’ll just have to go read the story yourself!

Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange(Benedict Cumberbatch) who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. Hoping to regain his skills once again Strange looks to the unique mystic Healer known as the Ancient One to help him finding himself a master of the mystic arts. Thus bringing great responsibilities thanks to those great powers.

Doctor Strange is set for a 25th October UK&Irish release date. The film also stars Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor,Rachael McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Scott Adkins, Amy Landecker.
