ALADDIN (2019)

After years of testing the waters and delivering critical success, Disney continues their Live Action adaptations with Aladdin. Today Disney has the first (UK) Trailer which may not reveal any footage, it reveals its a ‘whole new world’ out there.

After the success Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book, (even Maleficent). Now one of Disney’s much loved animations is getting that live action makeover but will it work? The one selling point of the 1992 animated classic, was the voice of the genie, Robin Williams. Can they truly replace Williams? Will Smith has that inevitable task, he has the charisma to deliver.

Alan Menken provides the score, which includes new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and two new songs written by Menken and songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The La La Land duo know how to create a hit song, The Greatest Showman pair might just see another Oscar for their mantelpiece!
