Paramount+ has just unveiled the first teaser trailer for the second season of Dexter: Resurrection, featuring Michael C. Hall reprising his iconic role as the forensic technician and serial killer Dexter Morgan. The series is a crime drama mystery sequel by Clyde Phillips, following on from the original series Dexter (2003-2012) and Dexter: New Blood (2021-2022). The premise follows Morgan as he specialises in bloodstain pattern analysis for the Miami Metro Police Department, while doubling as a bloodthirsty vigilante targeting murderers, as part of his mission to clean up a corrupt, seedy society.

Dexter: Resurrection additionally stars Uma ThurmanJack Alcott, David Zayas, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Emilia Suárez, James Remar, and Peter Dinklage. It attracted 3.1 million global viewers within its first three days of its 11th July 2025 debut and was nominated for thirteen awards, securing three.

The season finale showcased the titular character breaking free from confinement and bumping off Leon Prader, a billionaire serial killer, before grabbing a file holding the names of other murderers to track down. A second season was announced last October.

The second season of Dexter: Resurrection finds Dexter Morgan caught between two killers — one with decades of notoriety and a lifetime of kills behind him, and the other a fresh young face terrorizing New York in ways no one has ever seen,” the season’s logline reads. “Meanwhile, Dexter battles a new and unexpected enemy: a mid-life crisis. Harrison (Jack Alcott) continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter yet.”

Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson have been confirmed as new cast members.

Phillips and Hall share executive producer credits, alongside Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson.
