He’s dastardly, scheming but we all love him and his yellow banana loving friends and next Summer Gru is coming back to save the day in Despicable Me 3. In the movie’s first UK trailer, we seem to be minus the Minions, but does Gru (Steve Carrell) have time to worry about them? He seems to have bigger problems in shape of a new enemy who supports a mullet and looks like he’s stuck in a time warp supervillain, Balthazar Bratt.

We don’t have a lot of information on the plot details apart from the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters—Margo, Edith and Agnes (including the Minions who make a brief appearance at the end of the trailer as Dj’s at a beach party.South Park co-creator Trey Parker voices the movie’s villain who looks like a cross between Weird Al Yankovic and The Chuckle Brothers. He has the shoulder pads, he knows how to moonwalk and he has the ultimate 1980’s accessory the mullet (with a bald patch!).
Will Gru’s daughters Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Agnes (Nev Scharrel) and Edith (Dana Gaier) have all played an integral part of Gru are nowhere to be seen in this trailer? It’s early days and we might be worried about nothing but we expect them to have the same effect on our protagonist. There is a rumbling that Gru might have some true family matters and someone worse than Brat to deal with? His long lost twin brother Dru (voiced by Steve Carrell) is expected to make an unexpected return.
