Deckard Returns In Blade Runner 2049 First Trailer

There is no origami unicorns nor Daryl Hannah backflipping or Rutger Hauer preaching to the replicants, but in the very first UK trailer for Blade Runner 2049, Deckard returns.

Sony Pictures UK (Warner Bros in the USA) have finally released the first teaser trailer the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott‘s 1982 cult sci-fi. Entitled ‘Announcement Trailer‘ the new promo doesn’t really reveal much apart from Ryan Gosling is going to be the true lead actor as he finds the original ‘Blade Runner’ played by Harrison Ford

Up until now, it’s been all gossip and rumours in what this movie was going to be about and what the roles were going to be. Now we have an official synopsis and have a slightly better idea what we can expect. Feast your eyes on the brief glimpses of Roger Deakin‘s incredible cinematography too! The Noir inspired elements will once again be in this version for Los Angeles: The rain, neon lighting but now with sand blasted surroundings that would fit nicely into Dune.

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

With Deckard still alive does this rule out the theory that he’s a replicant? Many fans of the original will be hoping those unanswered questions will be answered. It’s left many fans arguing for several decades, unearthing some interesting theories all never been confirmed or denied by Scott.

If these are answered especially Deckard’s existence hardcore fans can enjoy this even more. With Scott on board to produce, Denis Villeneuve might just be the right director to deliver.

Blade Runner 2049 will arrive in UK&Ireland on 7th October 2017. The movie also stars Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis, and Sylvia Hoeks.
