David Tennant Set To Host 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards

BAFTA today announces that Former Doctor Who/Rivals star David Tennant is set to return as host of next year’s EE BAFTA Film Awards.

The Scottish actor will return to the Royal Festival Hall stage. After hosting 2024 ceremony  he won over audiences, with his  debut watched by over 3.8m viewers.

The ceremony will once again be held at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in central London, and broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer, Britbox in the US and Australia, as well as a host of further international broadcasters to be announced. The EE BAFTA Film Awards offers audiences around the world an unmissable night of entertainment, celebrating the year’s best films and the creative talent who bring them to life.

The Scottish actor will return to the Royal Festival Hall stage, bringing his charisma and humour following a widely acclaimed debut watched by over 3.8m viewers at home alongside over 20 million video views of ceremony highlights on BAFTA’s social media platforms – marking a third consecutive year of increased EE BAFTA Film Awards broadcast ratings.

Round one of voting for the 2025 Film Awards opened on Friday 6th December. The longlists for the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards categories will be unveiled on Friday 3 January 2025, followed by the nominations on Wednesday 15th January.

The EE Rising Star Award, the only category voted for by the public, will announce its nominees on Tuesday 7th January. 2025 will mark the 20th anniversary of the EE Rising Star Award.

2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards will take place on Sunday 16th February 2025.
