David Lynch’s Inland Empire Getting A 4K Re-Release

Studiocanal have announced they are set to give David Lynch‘s mysterious and enigmatic film Inland Empire a re-release in Cinemas later this month. The 2006 cult film has been remastered and we have a new Trailer to promote the film.

The film stars Laura Dern, Peter J.Lucas, Justin Theroux and Jeremy Irons. Dern plays a celebrated actress who lands a lead role in a remake of a film originally shot several years. That ended due to the lead actress who passed away before it ended. As things progress, Nikki finds herself in a web of fiction and reality sliding down the rabbit hole of a nightmarish labyrinth.

This was supervised by David Lynch, and the new 4K master was undertaken by The Criterion Collection with the support of Studiocanal. It features 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio and uncompressed stereo soundtracks, newly remastered by Lynch. Alongside it, original rerecording mixers Dean Hurley and Ron Eng.

INLAND EMPIRE, directed by DAVID LYNCH ((Mulholland Drive, The Elephant Man, The Straight Story), tells the story of ‘a woman in trouble’. It features an outstanding performance by LAURA DERN as Nikki and PETER J. LUCAS as Nikki’s husband, with supporting cast, JUSTIN THEROUX (Nikki’s co-star, Devon) and JEREMY IRONS (Kingsley Stewart), as well as an original soundtrack by David Lynch himself.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
-“More Things That Happened” (Deleted Scenes) 1h16min
-Documentation “Lynch (One)” 1h25min
-Interview with David Lynch in London
-Original and new trailer

Inland Empire is set for a cinema release in UK, Ireland, and France from 26th May. Then it will be released on Blu-ray and DVD from 19th June.
