David Fincher To Film The Girl With Dragon Tatto In Sweden, Emily Browning Drops out of Race For lisbeth Salander Role
Some new news has appeared online For David Fincher’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO remake and the first peice of news comes straight from the horses mouth the director himself. Fincher told MTV today he is going to stay as faithful to the book as possible and will actually shoot the English version of the movie in Sweden itself in the areas of Stockholm and Uppsula “What, are you going to put it in Seattle? Seattle noir?” jokes Fincher, I’m sure people who want to see this movie wont really care where (unless there big fans of the books) its filmed as long as the final outcomes is fantastic, but if your wanting to be as faithfull as possible it would be a good idea.
Now that Daniel Craig is onboard the movie to play Mikael Blomkvist all attention is now focused on who will play Lisbeth Salander and there’s a story online from The Daily Beast who are reporting Suckerpunch’s Emily Browning has dropped out the race to play Lisbeth. Since the gossip has started I have seen several variations of who actually is up for playing the lead female role and here another one: Rooney Mara (The Social Network), Sarah Snook (Sleeping Beauty), Sophie Lowe (Blame), and Lea Seydoux (Robin Hood). I have also heard the most popular Carey Mulligan, Kiera Knightly, Noomi Rapace (original Lisbeth), a female rapper from South Africa (name I dont remember), Natalie Portman. Until like any news thats not 100% confirmed we can only wait until something appears online or in print offically.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo remake has been scheduled for a December 21st, 2011 American release (UK is possibly early 2012 or same date).
