Daniel Craig Returns As Benoit Blanc In First Look Image Of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

Netflix has today released a first-look image for their upcoming sequel Wake Up, Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which is set to be released this Autumn.
The third in the Knives Out series from writer/director Rian Johnson, Wake Up Dead Man is already highly anticipated – and much talked about, not least with star Daniel Craig telling Variety that he is hoping the film will get a proper cinema release rather than the token on its predecessor, Glass Onion, for in 2022, saying: “Hopefully, Netflix will push it out a bit, and people will get to see it. The people I speak to — the fans, I suppose — all they want to do is take their families and go see it at the cinemas. That’s all they want to do. Hopefully we can give them that experience.”
For now, it seems it might…
In the new film, Benoit Blanc (Craig) returns to solve another mystery in what is described as his “most dangerous mission yet”, and he is surrounded once more by a stellar ensemble: all join the fun.
“We’ve been very lucky with each of these movies to have gathered some of my favorite actors on the planet,” said Johnson, via Variety.
In 2019, the first Knives Out was critically acclaimed and a box-office smash, grossing over $312million on a $40million budget. After that, Netflix bought the rights for the series in 2021 for $469million and planned two sequels. The first, Glass Onion, was also a critical success and grossed over $13million for its opening five-day weekend from only 698 theatres, before it was released on the streaming platform. Here’s hoping it can go even better with a proper theatrical run, as most fans hope for.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is set for release later in 2025.
