Ever wondered how Superhero films are made? Maybe The trailer for SKY original comedy series The Franchise might enlighten us, as it seems Daniel Brühl is struggling.
It’s hammer time in The Franchise Brühl plays Eric, a director for a big time franchise feature. As he struggles to keep things running, when everyday issues find themselves on the set, leaving him struggling with his sanity.
The six part series stars Himesh Patel as Daniel, Aya Cash as Anita, Jessica Hynes as Steph, Billy Magnussen as Adam, Lolly Adefope as Dag, Darren Goldstein as Pat, and Isaac Powell as Bryson. Recurring guest stars include Richard E. Grant as Peter.
You don’t need myself to tell you a list of those issues can be, it’s endless. Some of the usual suspects are those who despise their jobs, diva-esque employees. In The Franchise it seems the unhappy ones are the production assistants who moan and groan with tantrums and demands.
Not everyone might be fans of those superhero or even Hollywood films, It’s certainly chaos behind the lens. Sam Mendes directs the premiere episode…
A hopeful crew finds themselves trapped inside the dysfunctional, nonsensical, joyous hellscape of franchise superhero moviemaking.
The Franchise will be released by SKY and NOW from 21st October.
