Crime, Passion And Corruption In Steve McQueen’s Widows Trailer

WIDOWS(2018)

Crime, passion, and corruption lie ahead for four women in Steve McQueen‘s Widows. If you believe Ocean’s 8 is the only female-fronted heist film for 2018, think again.

Based on a script by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl), Four women (Viola Davis, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Erivo) not connected other than the debt of their dead husbands. They come together to forge their own future and execute a heist.

Four years since the British Oscar-winning director was behind the lens and boy he looks like he’s delivering a ‘beast’ of a film. A mouthwatering cast that also includes Colin Farrell, Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya, Garret Dillahunt, Carrie Coon, Jacki Weaver, Jon Bernthal, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo with Robert Duvall and Liam Neeson.

20th Century Fox Pictures has sent us the first UK Trailer. It highlight’s the film’s narrative and that the men in there lives killed in a job that went wrong. This also seems to be based on a 1983 Lynda LaPlante TV drama.

It looks stylish, exciting and very dramatic but also very different from the director’s previous films…

From Academy Awardยฎ-winning director Steve McQueen (โ€œ12 Years a Slaveโ€) and co-writer and bestselling author Gillian Flynn (โ€œGone Girlโ€), comes a blistering, modern-day thriller set against the backdrop of crime, passion and corruption: โ€œWidows” is the story of four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbandsโ€™ criminal activities. Set in contemporary Chicago, amid a time of turmoil, tensions build when Veronica (Oscarยฎ winner Viola Davis), Alice (Elizabeth Debicki), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez) and Belle (Cynthia Erivo) take their fate into their own hands and conspire to forge a future on their own terms. โ€œWidows” also stars Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Robert Duvall, Daniel Kaluuya and Brian Tyree Henry.
