From the love interest of Bridget Jones to the stammering father of the Queen everything has been on the up for Colin Firth, but the past few months have been a little on the quiet front for the Oscar winning actor. Since Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy we’ve heard virtually nothing but gossip but today every is revealed as his next film the Coen Brothers scripted Gambit is been released this Autumn and today we have the film’s official UK trailer.

Gambit is a remake of the 1966 Michael Caine film of the same name which also co-starred Shirley McClaine, out goes the Cat Burglar& showgirl with Firth playing a London Art dealer who enlists the help of a rodeo queen (Cameron Diaz) to con his abusive boss(Alan Rickman) into buying a fake Monet painting. What is surprising some people with Gambit is the fact the Coen Brothers wrote the script and they don’t usually write scripts for films they don’t tend to direct too. It’s evident the Brother’s stylings can be seen however this one does look  messy at the same time it does look a fun film which looks to focus on individual performances than overall film. What we do like is seeing Alan Rickman in his first post Harry Potter role an actor very similar in style to Firth, trustworthy, diverse overall fantastic actor.

Momentum Pictures are releasing this one in UK&Ireland and the film will be with us in November 21st, No American date has been set yet but expect sometime 2013, Gambit also stars Stanley Tucci.
