What a bunch of losers! – Guardians of The Galaxy preview
Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most anticipated movies of the summer. We were lucky to be invited to a sneak preview of a whopping 17 minutes at the spanking new IMAX Leicester Square this week. Admittedly this could be a chance to showcase how spectacular a 3D movie can look at the IMAX and hopefully sell a few advance tickets, but never-the-less we were pretty excited to go along and see what all the fuss is about.
The clip shown introduced a group of losers, I mean folks that have lost stuff, the five Guardians; Peter Quill (played by “rent an everyman” Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Racoon (Bradley “Haagen Dazs” Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel) and the menacingly named Drax The Destroyer (Dave Bautista). We then got to see them kick ass as they broke out of prison with the help of a stolen prosthetic leg, all to a soundtrack of The Runaways and Blue Suede’s “Hooked on a Feeling”. There were also welcome cameos from John C. Reilly and our very own Peter Serafinawicz,however I anticipate their parts in the movie will be minor.
From the clip we saw I’m certain that fans will get what they have come to expect from a Marvel film, fast paced action, comic relief and of course Vin Diesel playing a tree. The 3D and CGI also looked amazing and definitely the type of film worth those extra pounds to experience it in it’s full IMAX glory.

Guardians of the Galaxy is released in cinemas on the 31st July.
