Teaser Trailer For Netflix’s Bullet Train Explosion Arrives

Netflix has unleashed the first teaser trailer for its explosive action thriller Bullet Train Explosion, which you can watch below!
The film is directed by Shinji Higuchi, who directed Shin Godzilla, and is based on a screenplay by Kazuhiro Nakagawa and Norichika Oba, the project is a remake of the 1975 film The Bullet Train. Watching the trailer, though, you’ll be remiss if you didn’t think it drew huge influence from Jan de Bont’s 1994 thriller Speed, which starred Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock, Dennis Hopper and Jeff Daniels. Some small nods to Brad Pitt-starrer Bullet Train, too.
In the film, a bomb has been planted on the Hayabusa No. 60 bullet train heading toward Tokyo and will explode as soon as the train’s speed goes below 100 kph/62mph. The terrorist behind the bomb demands 100 billion yen ($660 million USD) in exchange for deactivating it, while railway workers are thrust into a desperate race against time as they struggle to prevent an explosion and mass casualties.
The cast list features Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, Kanata Hosoda, Non, Matsuya Onoe, Naomasa Musaka, Pierre Taki, Yajuro Bando, Daisuke Kuroda, Satoru Matsuo, Suzuka Ohgo, Jun Kaname, Machiko Ono, Hana Toyoshima, and Takumi Saitoh.
Made with East Japan Railway Company, the film was able to use real bullet trains and their railway facilites to achieve some startling effects and realistic looking visuals.
Bullet Train Explosion streams on Netflix on April 23rd.
