Buffy And Gossip Girl Actor Michelle Trachtenberg dies aged 39
Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, has died at the age of 39.
The actor was reportedly found at a New York apartment at 8am on Wednesday, sources told The New York Post.
It reported that Trachtenberg recently underwent a liver transplant and died of natural causes.
The NYPD confirmed Trachtenberg was found “unconscious and unresponsive” by police and pronounced dead by EMS workers. They responded to the building after a 911 call reporting a woman experiencing cardiac arrest.
Trachtenberg started her career as a child actor in adverts before going on to feature in the Nickelodeon series The Adventures of Pete & Pete as well as the soap opera All My Children.
She finally landed her first leading role in Harriet the Spy. This was followed by a job in Inspector Gadget.
In 2000, she was cast as Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which she remained in until the show’s end.
The actor also played roles in Ice Princess, Six Feet Under, and Black Christmas.
One of her landmark roles was her portrayal of Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl.
