Bradley Cooper In Talks To Play Lance Armstrong?

When it comes to events in the world of sports&entertainment the past few weeks Lance Armstrong and JJ Abrams have never been out of the limelight.It Now seems JJ Abrams Bad Robot productions are ready to make a film on  Armstrong with Bradley Cooper reportedly in talks to star as the drug cheating pedlar for upcoming film.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Abrams at Producers Guild Awards he said “He(Cooper) sent me an email and we’ve been talking,”. As for Cooper himself on a recent  interview with  BBC News he expressed his interest and desire to play the role “I remember thinking, that would be a great character, I’d love to play that character. I would love to do something, I think he’s pretty fascinating.”

If this project comes to light it will be based on Cycle of Lies: The Fall Of Lance Armstrong a book written New York Times sportswriter Juliet Macur. The writer followed Lance Armstrong for 10 years from the years of endless trophies and for the film ‘the fall’ part will be the part the film will certainly be based on and it’s an option Bad Robot won a few weeks ago.

With the years Macur followed Armstrong you can bet your bottom dollar this wont be no melodramatic biopic, the dirt will be dished out and with Bradley Cooper‘s recently experience with dodgy pharmaceuticals, this mighty a meaty role he cannot refuse. Could this be the role that sees Bradley Cooper finally fill up those dusty spaces in his trophy cabinet with numerous nominations?

You can see Bradley Cooper next In The Place Beyond The Pines on 12th April and JJ Abram‘s next directorial feature will be Star Trek Into Darkness the following month on 17th May.
