Brad Pitt To Retire From Acting In 3 Years

It seems to be common practice for film stars, directors to announce ‘retirement’ plans. Last year it was Steven Soderbergh who announced he’s retiring soon but still he’s connected to new films everyday but now it seems its the turn of his acting buddy Brad Pitt to announce his retirement.

With 10 days to go until Pitt’s Moneyball is released in UK &Ireland (November 25th) Pitt has been chatting to the Australian media about Moneyball when the journalist interviewing the Hollywood star asks :

โ€œHow much longer would you like to do your business for?โ€ Pitt replies with a simple answerย โ€œThree years.โ€

the journalist (Tara Brown) went to ask what his plans would be then “I am really enjoying the producing side and development of stories and putting those pieces together. And getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher time otherwise,”

There isn’t many actors who can boast they’ve worked with some of the best Terrence Malick, Ethan Brothers,Robert Redford, David Fincher, Quentin Tarantino,Ridley Scott, Steven Soderbergh and soon Steve McQueen(12 Years A Slave). But we are talking about Brad Pitt one of the finest actors of his generation, as for going into producing theย quality we know Pitt has produced. His Plan B Entertainment company has given us The Departed, Kick-Ass, Jesse James, The Tree Of Life, Moneyball and will produce 12 Years A Slave not a bad filmography.

As for Brad Pitt retiring from acting that’s very doubtful. It’s more likely he’ll take a hiatus then come back refreshed but don’t expect the actor to non stop acting when he does return, he’ll be more choosy in what he picks thinking more about his legacy and of course ย his ever increasing adopted family.ย Wertherย this will be the beginning of the end of Pitt as an actor or an actor approaching his ‘midlife acting’ crisis with a caution we don’t know but do expect the actor to be around for a very long time in some shape or form.

Brad Pitt will be next seen in Moneyball (November 25th), Happy Feet 2 (voice), Voyage of Time, Cogan’s Trade ย and World War Z.
